Belize is best known for Permit, Bonefish and Tarpon, three of saltwater fly fishing's most iconic species. Add Snook and you have what we call Belize's Big Four. Each offers a completely different challenge. Tell us what you want to target, and we'll build the day around your experience and the conditions.

For many anglers, Permit are the reason to come to Belize. Notoriously challenging and incredibly rewarding, they are perfectly suited to the diverse flats and cayes throughout our range. We target them from the boat, quietly poling for singles, pairs and schools, as well as on foot, wading hard bottom flats and looking for fish within casting range.
Finding the fish is only the beginning. Making the right presentation, managing the pressure as a fish approaches the fly, and convincing it to eat are what make Permit fishing so addictive. There are no guarantees. That's exactly why catching one means so much.

Bonefish offer some of the most exciting sight fishing in Belize and can be found throughout much of the shallow water we cover. We find singles, small groups and larger schools moving across grass and sand flats, along cayes, through shallow channels and tailing in inches of water. Their speed and strength make them fantastic sport on fly and light tackle.
They're also a great introduction to saltwater fly fishing, helping anglers develop the skills that matter across the flats: spotting fish, making quick, accurate casts and reacting when a fish eats. For experienced anglers, one of our favourite ways to fish for Bonefish is chasing large singles tailing in skinny water. It takes patience, a good approach and an accurate cast, but watching a big Bonefish tip down on your fly is hard to beat.

Few fish create a moment quite like a Tarpon leaving the water. They're found throughout our fishery year round, from small resident fish around 5 lbs to giants pushing 150 lbs. You never quite know what might show up.
We find them across flats and channels around the cayes, as well as in mainland rivers, creeks and lagoons. Depending on the water and conditions, we might sight fish to individual Tarpon, work groups of rolling fish, or target fish holding in protected rivers and lagoons. Their explosive takes, sheer power and aerial fights make Tarpon one of the most exciting fish we pursue.

Snook bring us into another side of Belize's fishery. Often found around mainland rivers, creeks, lagoons and structure, targeting them can mean leaving the open flats behind for quieter, more enclosed water.
They're aggressive, powerful fish that demand accurate presentations and quick reactions when they eat. Lower tides can be particularly interesting, drawing Snook away from heavy cover and into more open water where we can sight fish to them. For anglers looking for something completely different from the traditional flats fishery, Snook deliver.
We regularly encounter jacks, barracuda, cobia, snapper and triggerfish throughout our fishery, while tripletail, sharks, grouper and ladyfish are also present. With such a wide variety of habitats, you never quite know what else may show up during a day on the water.
Some anglers arrive with one goal: Permit. Others want a Grand Slam, their first Bonefish, a Tarpon eat, or a day exploring the mainland for Snook. Tell us what matters to you. We'll plan the day around your goals, experience and the conditions.
